Unsigned Oct. 17, 1745, letter written by either David or Asahel Wright and addressed to another brother, Noah Wright, reporting on the activities of a scouting party that set out from Deerfield on Oct. 19 in response to news that raiding Abenaki Indians had captured Nehemiah How and killed David Rugg at the Great Meadow (now Putney, Vt.)
